The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers to the community.
SASSA will be rendering providers like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the large range of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The provider issue developed for intervention activities a higher influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it hard with the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more means to enable the servicing of all customers and increase usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
